Fortnite (Mobile 120)

Microsoft have revealed more about their plans for backward compatibility on Xbox Series X, going far, far beyond simply preserving games. The latest version 11.40.1 has incorporated the possibility of playing at 120 fps , so that Apple tablet owners can take full advantage of the Pro Motion screen , which offers a 120 Hz refreshment with which to enjoy images Crisp and extremely smooth on the move.
Running the game at 90fps will drain your battery pretty quickly, of course, but the extra smoothness should be worth it. There's no word if other 60Hz+ smartphones, such as the OnePlus 7 and 7T, Galaxy S20 series, and Google Pixel 4, will eventually be able to run Fortnite at 90fps.

Though many people probably aren't playing Fortnite competitively on the iPad Pro, it's great to see more games slowly starting to support the iPad LEONATOR Pro's ‘Pro Motion.' A few other iPadOS titles also support 120fps, including Journey, Alto's Odyssey, Hyper Light Drifter, Thumper and more.
It appears that raw power alone isn't the only factor when deciding Fortnite's frame rate on mobile devices like the iPhone X. In a breakdown of Fortnite's 60fps performance on iOS devices, Digital Foundry explains that Epic Games had to keep the iPhone X's thermals in check too.

Thanks to the latest iOS update for Fortnite, Epic Games' massive multiplayer shooter can now run at 120 FPS on iPad Pro Fortnite is one of the biggest games on the planet right now, and rightfully so, it gets huge updates on a regular basis to keep the game fresh, balanced, and full of content.
If solely playing Fortnite at a decent framerate is your goal, in that budget, I'd recommend getting an iPad Mini 5. Runs 60fps smoothly, doesn't look that bad, and is a great way to play the game. For reference, Fortnite for the Nintendo Switch is still only capable of 30 FPS gameplay.
If this happens, the hardware components needed to play games with 120 fps frame rates on 120 Hz TVs will all be in place if you own a One X or S. Right now, intermediate frame rates that don't divide evenly into 60 or 120 produce problems, but those problems may soon be solved.

The game is expected to also launch with the release of the next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. Epic has shipped a new update for the iOS version of Fortnite that bumps the supported framerate to a max of 120, assuming that you have the right hardware for the job, of course.
The Xbox spring update also adds support for Freesync, AMD's variable refresh rate technology. Fortnite on the iPad Pro just got a major performance boost, as it will now support gameplay at 120 fps (frames per second). That alone is the biggest issue we have for Fortnite on our iPhone 11 Pro Max.
